Florida State has seen enough. Mike Norvell fired after Seminoles' loss to Clemson

Florida State has parted ways with head coach Mike Norvell following a difficult stretch that saw the team drop 17 of their previous 21 conference matchups. The decision arrived after a 36-24 defeat against Clemson on October 31, bringing his total tenure record to 41-39.

University president Richard McCullough expressed gratitude for his service while acknowledging the program's high standards. Rick Stockstill has been appointed as the interim head coach to lead the team through the remainder of the season, starting with their upcoming game against Boston College on November 7.

Norvell had previously guided the program to back-to-back winning seasons in 2022 and 2023, though the team struggled to maintain that momentum.
