Privacy Policy

Sports Wire Live (the "Site") is operated by HyperianAI LLC, a limited liability company registered in Arkansas, USA ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains what information we collect when you visit the Site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically logs standard technical information when you visit — your IP address, browser type, device type, pages viewed, and referring page. This is used only for operating and securing the Site (e.g. diagnosing errors, preventing abuse) and is not used to build a profile of you.

Cookies and similar storage. The Site sets a few small cookies and browser-storage entries so features work without an account. None of them is used for advertising:

• swl_voter_id (cookie, 1 year): a random ID that lets us count one vote per poll or match prediction and one reaction per article per browser, and to remember which days you visited so we can show your visit streak and badges on your Fan Card. It is not linked to your name, email, or any account. We also store the IP address that sent a vote or reaction, to limit abuse.
• swl_follows and swl_fav_sports (cookies, 1 year): the teams, players, countries, and sports you choose to follow, used to build your For You page. They are kept in your browser and read by the Site to choose which stories to show.
• Browser storage (localStorage and sessionStorage): remembers things like recent searches, a dismissed banner, or your language choice, and notes that a visit has already been counted once in a session.
• Staff sign-in cookie: a single functional cookie used only by our own staff in the article-review dashboard. It is not set for ordinary visitors.
• Google Analytics cookies (see "Advertising and analytics" below), used for aggregate traffic measurement.

You can delete these cookies and stored entries at any time in your browser settings. Doing so resets your followed teams, and you could vote again on a poll you already answered.

Fan Card. After you interact with a page (for example by scrolling or tapping), we record, for your anonymous swl_voter_id, that you were active on that day. We use it to show your streak, level, badges, and match prediction record on your Fan Card page, which only your browser can open. It holds no name or email, and clearing your cookies starts it over.

Anonymous usage counters. We count, per day, how many sessions began, how often the install-app prompts were shown or used, how many new and returning visitors there were, how many predictions were made, and how many Fan Card badges were earned. These counters hold no identifier and cannot be traced to a person.

Push notifications (optional). If you choose to allow notifications, your browser gives us a subscription address and encryption keys so we can send you alerts. They are not linked to your name or email, and you can turn notifications off in your browser at any time.

Polls and predictions. When you vote in a poll or pick a winner for a match, we store your choice together with your anonymous swl_voter_id and the time. Totals are shown publicly in aggregate; individual choices are not.

Match ratings. When you rate a finished match from 1 to 5, we store your rating with your anonymous swl_voter_id. Only the average and the number of ratings are shown.

Feedback. If you send feedback from the Feedback page, we store your thumbs up or down, your optional note (up to 300 characters), the page you came from, and your anonymous swl_voter_id. Notes are read by our team only and are not published. Please do not include personal details. We reject notes that contain links, email addresses, or phone numbers.

Fan Voices. If you share a take on a match, we store the first name, optional country, and text you enter, with your anonymous swl_voter_id. A person reads every take before it is published. If we publish it, your first name, country and text appear under "Fans say" on that match page. If you want a take removed, contact us using the details on our Contact page and tell us which match it was on.

No account required. You do not need to create an account or provide any personal information to read the Site or to use polls, reactions, predictions, or follows. We do not currently offer newsletter sign-ups, comments, or any other feature that would ask you for personal information. If that changes, this policy will be updated first.

We are in the process of setting up advertising through Google AdSense. Google is currently reviewing the Site for approval, and no ads are being shown to visitors yet — this section describes what applies once that review completes and ads actually go live, so it's accurate in advance. We'll update the "Last updated" date above the day ads actually start showing.

Analytics is active. We use Google Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns (which pages are popular, how visitors found the Site) — it does not identify you individually. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects your IP address (truncated/anonymized) to do this. You can opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites using the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Once ads go live, Google and its advertising partners will use cookies, device identifiers, and your IP address to serve ads and, where you've consented, to personalize which ads you see and measure their performance. You can see which companies these are and control your ad settings directly at myadcenter.google.com and learn more about how Google uses this data at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

If you're in the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, we would show a consent banner before any advertising cookies are set or any data is used for ad personalization, and you'd be free to decline — non-personalized ads may still be shown without that consent, consistent with Google's EU User Consent Policy.

Articles on the Site link out to the original reporting on other publishers' websites, and some images are sourced from stock/media libraries with attribution shown alongside them. When you click through to any of those sites, you leave the Site and become subject to that site's own privacy policy — we don't control and aren't responsible for their practices.

We use the limited technical information described above only to operate, secure, and improve the Site — for example, to detect and block automated abuse, or to understand which content is popular so we can prioritize similar coverage. We do not sell your information to anyone.

Server logs are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for security and operational purposes. We use industry-standard measures (such as encrypted connections and hashed credentials for staff accounts) to protect the data we do hold, though no method of transmission or storage is ever 100% secure.

The Site is a general-audience sports news service and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of any personal information we hold about you. Given the Site currently collects only anonymous technical logs and no personal profiles, there is generally nothing to request — but if you believe we hold information about you, contact us using the details below and we'll respond.

European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland. Under the GDPR and the UK GDPR you may have the right to access, correct or erase personal data, to restrict or object to its use, and to withdraw consent at any time. Where we ask for consent to cookies or personalised advertising, you can choose to accept, refuse or manage your options in the consent message shown on the Site.

United States. If you live in a state with a consumer privacy law, such as California, you may have the right to know what personal information is collected, to correct or delete it, and to opt out of its sale or sharing, including for targeted advertising. Where we show that choice on the Site, you can use it to opt out. You can also limit personalised ads in Google's own settings, as described above.
