Vidarbha batter Danish Malewar has emerged as a prolific talent, tracing a remarkable journey from scoring a double-century as a youth player after waking up from a nap to hitting a crucial century in the 2024-25 Ranji Trophy final against Kerala. Childhood coach Nitin Gawande recalled how Malewar once arrived at a morning match after traveling through the night, slept on the bench with his pads on, and woke up to score 140 not out for Citi Gymkhana Cricket Club.
Years later, Malewar showcased that same relentless appetite for batting during the Ranji final, anchoring his side by spending 89 overs at the crease for 153 runs off 215 balls.
