Scott Parker named West Ham coach as former Hammer bids to secure promotion to Premier League

West Ham has appointed Scott Parker as their new head coach on a contract lasting two and a half seasons. The former midfielder takes over following the departure of Nuno Espirito Santo, with the team currently positioned eighth in the Championship standings after dropping out of the top flight last year.

Parker brings a strong track record of securing promotion from the second tier, having previously guided Fulham, Bournemouth, and Burnley into the Premier League at his first attempt with each club. His initial test in the dugout arrives swiftly as the squad travels to face Cardiff City on Wednesday evening, following a recent home defeat against West Brom.

Club leadership, including interim CEO Karim Virani and joint-chair Daniel Kretinsky, share Parker's immediate ambition to return the organization to the top division.
