Manchester City midfielder Phil Foden has spoken about how a suspension following a red card in the September derby against Manchester United allowed him to recharge and return with renewed sharpness. The 26-year-old, who won the PFA Player of the Year award last season, admitted that the incident halted his momentum, but he used the time away from the pitch to spend time with family and focus on his game.
Foden recently broke a goal drought that lasted nearly ten months and approximately 35 appearances, scoring in a victory over Ipswich Town and netting a hat-trick in a 5-1 Champions League win against AEK Athens. Ahead of an upcoming match against RB Leipzig, the six-time Premier League winner stated that his recent involvement in goals has boosted his confidence, and he aims to restore the consistent output that defined his previous campaign under manager Enzo Maresca.
