Martin Brundle tells “broken” George Russell what he must do after F1 title defeat

Following the Mexico City Grand Prix, pundit Martin Brundle suggested that George Russell needs to discover an extra gear after losing the 2026 world championship to his Mercedes colleague Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Antonelli secured the title with four races remaining by taking third place at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez, while Russell finished sixth following a ten-second penalty for colliding with Isack Hadjar during the opening lap.

Russell acknowledged via social media that he experienced more difficult outings than positive ones throughout a campaign plagued by car development struggles and reliability issues.
