Portsmouth strike late to frustrate Wolves

Wolves' late push for victory at Molineux fell short as Portsmouth snatched a 1-1 draw in the Championship. Substitute Jordan James put the hosts ahead after a strong second-half performance, but Terry Devlin’s 86th-minute equalizer canceled out Wolves’ momentum.

The game saw Wolves dominate possession and create chances, with Tawanda Chirewa hitting the bar and Mateus Mane missing a golden opportunity. Portsmouth, meanwhile, struggled to find the net until Devlin’s well-taken strike restored parity.

Earlier, Wolves had made two key substitutions at half-time, bringing on Chirewa and James, which reignited their attack. Despite a dominant display, Wolves’ failure to convert key moments left them with a frustrating point rather than all three.

Post-match, heated words were exchanged between Wolves boss Cesar Peixoto and Portsmouth manager John Mousinho.
