Cowboys news: Dallas seems to want Joey Porter Jr. beyond this season

Joey Porter Jr. has impressed the Dallas organization since his arrival, leading the team to prioritize a long-term commitment to the defensive back.

While the front office is unlikely to pursue significant trades, they are weighing a potential contract extension or the use of a franchise tag to retain his services beyond the current season. Meanwhile, Dallas faces a difficult matchup this Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, a team they have failed to defeat since 2017.

Rookie safety Caleb Downs emphasized that containing Trey McBride and Jeremiyah Love will be vital to ending that losing streak. Additionally, the Cowboys will be missing KaVontae Turpin and Dee Winters due to injury, while George Pickens remains questionable for the upcoming contest.
