India has reached a historic milestone by becoming the first international side to clear the boundary 400 times in a single calendar year of T20I cricket. This achievement, recorded during a recent series against New Zealand, marks a significant increase from their 289 sixes in 2022.
Abhishek Sharma leads the individual tally with 86 maximums, supported by Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson, while the team has notably struck 145 sixes during the Powerplay phase alone. Power-hitting coach Julian Wood attributes this success to a shift in tactical approach, where batters prioritize mastering skills over traditional risk management.
India is scheduled to continue their campaign against Sri Lanka in December.
