'Unplayable' & 'almost perfect'- Calvert-Lewin set for England recall?

Dominic Calvert-Lewin delivered a dominant performance on Monday, contributing a goal and an assist to propel Leeds United to a 4-1 triumph over Newcastle United. The 29-year-old forward, who joined on a free transfer, has now tallied eight career goals against Newcastle, and he even saw another potential strike credited to Jayden Bogle following a slight deflection.

By finding the net, he equalled Mark Viduka's 2003 club record of scoring in five straight top-flight home fixtures, while improving his recent tally to three goals across four matches.

His scintillating form has prompted Leeds boss Daniel Farke to champion his international credentials ahead of Thomas Tuchel revealing his England squad on Friday for Nations League matches opposite Spain and the Czech Republic. Having earned a cap against Uruguay in March during his maiden Leeds campaign, Calvert-Lewin ultimately missed out on the summer World Cup, where Ivan Toney and Ollie Watkins served as Harry Kane's backups before moving to Saudi Arabia.

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher lauded the revitalized ex-Everton frontman as nearly flawless and impossible to defend, cementing his status as the Premier League's top English goalscorer at the ideal time.
