India A’s second unofficial Test against New Zealand A at Hagley Oval ended in a draw, thanks to a commanding partnership between Yashasvi Jaiswal and Yash Rathod. Jaiswal, who had struggled in the first Test with scores of 17, 5, and a duck, delivered a match-winning 155 not out off 162 balls, including 15 fours and five sixes.
Rathod complemented his effort with a resilient 100 off 122 deliveries, as the pair added 247 runs for the third wicket, lifting India A to 282/2 and a 204-run lead by the end of their innings. The hosts had earlier faced a shaky start, losing Sai Sudarshan for 11 and Devdutt Padikkal for a duck, but Rathod and Jaiswal stabilized the innings after the team trailed by 43 runs.
New Zealand A, despite a strong first innings of 346 led by Dhruv Jurel’s 105 and Akash Deep’s 68, were eventually held to 424 in their second innings, with Mukesh Kumar and Mohammed Siraj taking key wickets (5/87 and 4/118, respectively). The series concludes with a third unofficial Test scheduled for Saturday.
