India’s Prema Rawat made history in the Senior Women’s T20 Trophy by smashing the fastest half-century in women’s T20 cricket, reaching her 50 in just 14 balls during Uttarakhand’s match against Hyderabad. The 24-year-old opener, known primarily as a leg-spinner, accelerated Uttarakhand’s total to 187 for 2 with a blistering strike rate of 357.14, including six boundaries and four sixes.
Her record-breaking innings surpassed Pakistan captain Fatima Sana’s previous mark of 15 balls, set in May 2026, though Fatima still holds the fastest T20 International fifty. Rawat’s all-round performance—she also took two wickets for 12 runs—earned her Player of the Match honors, while her bowling prowess has already seen her selected for India’s 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup squad after a standout Asia Cup Rising Stars campaign.
Hyderabad, however, collapsed to 98 for 8 in their chase, handing Uttarakhand an 89-run victory in Pune.
