Virat Kohli delivered a playful moment during India’s opening ODI against New Zealand at Eden Park, using the WWE-inspired ‘You Can’t See Me’ gesture to welcome Glenn Phillips to the crease. The timing was deliberate: Kohli executed the move as Phillips stepped up to bat for New Zealand, who were already struggling at 84 runs for four wickets.
The connection wasn’t coincidental—Phillips is often accompanied by John Cena’s anthem, ‘The Time Is Now,’ during his batting entrances at home, and Kohli’s gesture seemed to acknowledge that tradition. Earlier in the innings, Kohli had also celebrated a one-handed catch with a bow-and-arrow pose, but the ‘You Can’t See Me’ moment stole the spotlight for its direct nod to Phillips’ entrance routine.
New Zealand’s innings ultimately collapsed for 185 runs in 40.2 overs, with India’s bowlers dismantling the batting order. Phillips himself lasted 51 balls, scoring 30 runs before Arshdeep Singh bowled him out in the 35th over, caught by Shreyas Iyer.
