Anshul Kamboj delivered a masterclass in economy bowling during India's first ODI against New Zealand, conceding just 22 runs from his full quota of 10 overs. His spell, which featured 46 dot balls and two maiden overs, stands as the most economical performance by an Indian bowler in the format since 2016.
Kamboj took the wickets of Mitchell Santner and Nathan Smith, helping to restrict the hosts to 185 all out in 40.2 overs.
The Indian attack was led by Arshdeep Singh, who claimed four wickets for 70 runs, while Gurnoor Brar added three for 44. Axar Patel provided further support by limiting the damage to 12 runs from five overs.
On the batting front, Tim Seifert top-scored for New Zealand with 38, though Blair Tickner's rapid 34 off 23 balls came too late to significantly alter the final total.
