Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill receive personalized All Blacks jerseys ahead of 1st ODI

Former New Zealand rugby captain Keven Mealamu presented customized All Blacks jerseys to Indian cricket stars Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and ODI skipper Shubman Gill prior to the start of the five-match white-ball series. The 47-year-old Mealamu, who has earned 132 international caps and helped secure Rugby World Cup titles in 2011 and 2015, shared the moment with the visiting Indian trio at Eden Park in Auckland.

Following the pre-match exchange, Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to defend first under overcast skies. India's bowling attack capitalized on the conditions to restrict the hosts to 131 runs, with Arshdeep Singh dismissing Will Young and Henry Nicholls for nine apiece in the opening overs.

Gurnoor Brar added to the damage by removing Tim Seifert for 38 and Tom Latham for three, while Rohit Sharma executed a diving throw to run out Daryl Mitchell for 28 in the 22nd over.
