The Jacksonville Jaguars launched their 2026 campaign in commanding fashion on Sunday, September 13, taking down the Cleveland Browns in their home opener at EverBank Stadium. Jacksonville's defense set the tone early by securing a turnover, which the offense immediately converted into points when quarterback Trevor Lawrence found Parker Washington for a 30-yard touchdown strike.
Lawrence also connected with receiver Jakobi Meyers during an opening quarter that saw Cleveland struggle to find any offensive rhythm.
Now entering his second campaign under head coach Liam Coen, Lawrence showed strong early form to spark the Week 1 triumph. While the Jaguars delivered a decisive, tone-setting performance on both sides of the ball, the Browns endured a rough start to the year, leaving quarterback Deshaun Watson and the Cleveland offense facing immediate questions after an embarrassing showing.
