The Greatest review – Amazon’s sturdy Muhammad Ali series is a tale told too many times

Amazon has released a biographical television program about the legendary boxer Muhammad Ali. Titled The Greatest, the streaming drama recounts his meteoric rise in the sport, his period of exile after declining military conscription, his remarkable return to the ring later in life, and his brave battle with Parkinson's disease.

The production drew support from the late athlete's widow, Lonnie Ali, who participated as an executive producer. Additionally, the project drew heavy inspiration from a comprehensive biography written by the subject's sibling, Rahaman Ali, who spent decades as his sparring partner and constant companion until the champion passed away at age 74.
