Solanke struggles in dour draw - player ratings for Spurs v Everton

Dominic Solanke endured an underwhelming afternoon, receiving a 4 rating as he displayed noticeable rust during his maiden Premier League start of the campaign in a scoreless encounter between Tottenham and Everton. For Spurs, Antonin Kinsky earned a 6 despite nearly gifting Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall a goal following an earlier stop against James Garner, while Jan Paul van Hecke (6), Micky van de Ven (6), and Rodrigo Bentancur (6) were steady.

Andrew Robertson and Savio topped the home side with 7s, unlike Mateus Fernandes (5), Omar Marmoush (5), and Sandro Tonali (6), while replacements Mohammed Kudus (4), Lucas Bergvall (6), and Mathys Tel (5) arrived on 63 minutes ahead of late cameos from James Maddison and Tosin Adarabioyo.

Everton's defensive efforts were anchored by match standout Jarrad Branthwaite, who garnered an 8 for a commanding performance alongside partner James Tarkowski (6) and goalkeeper Jordan Pickford (7), whose late denial of Bergvall preserved the deadlock. Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Harrison Armstrong notched 6s alongside Dewsbury-Hall, while Vitalii Mykolenko, Garner, Thierno Barry, and Tyrique George collected 5s.

Brennan Johnson suffered a difficult reunion with his ex-club, missing a major chance before exiting on 75 minutes alongside Maitland-Niles as Hayden Hackney, Jake O'Brien, and 65th-minute introduction Jack Grealish all featured off the bench.
