Lukas Van Ness fined for hit on Carson Wentz, no fine for hit on Kyler Murray

During the opening week of competition, Green Bay linebacker Lukas Van Ness collided with Minnesota signal-caller Kyler Murray, leaving the quarterback with a concussion. Although that specific helmet-to-helmet contact drew attention, league officials issued zero financial penalties for the sequence.

Instead, the lone disciplinary action resulting from quarterback hits in that matchup targeted a completely separate collision involving Carson Wentz.
