Jessica Pegula’s record against Mirra Andreeva following controversial incident at the WTA Finals

Tensions have flared at the WTA Finals following a leaked recording of Jessica Pegula criticizing Mirra Andreeva after a joint practice session. The WTA subsequently removed all training footage from the event.

While the two have never faced each other in singles competition, Andreeva currently holds a 2-1 record over Pegula in doubles and mixed doubles matches. Their history includes a 2025 Qatar Open victory for Andreeva and Diana Shnaider over Pegula and Ashlyn Krueger, as well as a 2026 Italian Open semifinal win for Andreeva and Shnaider against Pegula and Storm Hunter.

Pegula secured her lone victory against Andreeva during the 2025 US Open mixed doubles quarterfinals, where she and Jack Draper defeated Andreeva and Daniil Medvedev. A potential singles matchup at the current tournament depends on specific group stage outcomes, as the two players are currently placed in separate brackets.
