Jeffery Simmons gets huge sack on Sam Darnold in first game with the Bears

Jeffery Simmons made an immediate impact in his debut for the Chicago Bears, recording a sack on quarterback Sam Darnold during the team's Monday Night Football matchup against the Seattle Seahawks. The defensive tackle, who was acquired from the Tennessee Titans in a trade completed on Thursday, is viewed as a significant upgrade for Chicago's interior line, joining Grady Jarrett to form a potent duo.

The Bears, currently holding a 5-2 record, are attempting to solidify their status as serious contenders for the Super Bowl with this addition. However, the team's pass defense remains a concern, as they currently allow 8.7 yards per pass attempt, the worst figure in the league.

General Manager Ryan Poles has indicated that Simmons was expected to suit up for this game despite the short turnaround required to learn the new defensive scheme.
