The upcoming India-Pakistan ODI World Cup clash in 2027 has shattered ticket demand records, with over 8.4 million requests submitted for just 34,000 available seats at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. Scheduled for October 10, the match has become the most sought-after fixture of the tournament, surpassing even the final’s 7.9 million requests.
The ICC’s ticket ballot has seen unprecedented global engagement, with 120 million total requests from 2.8 million unique fans across 193 countries. South Africa, Zimbabwe, and Namibia are jointly hosting the 14-team tournament, which will feature 57 matches across 12 venues—marking the first ODI World Cup return to African soil in 24 years.
The ballot remains open until November 21, with successful applicants selected randomly for high-demand games.
