The Atlanta Falcons have reinstated edge rusher James Pearce Jr. from an eight-game suspension, clearing the way for his return in Week 9 against the Cincinnati Bengals in Madrid.
Pearce’s eligibility comes after completing a 12-month pre-trial program tied to his February 2026 arrest, which stemmed from a domestic dispute with his then-girlfriend, Rickea Jackson. Charges including aggravated battery and resisting an officer were reduced or dismissed as part of his agreement, which also required therapy and a six-month period without legal trouble.
Falcons coach Kevin Stefanski confirmed Pearce’s readiness, though the extent of his playing time in his first game back remains uncertain. The team also activated Pearce to its 53-man roster, releasing Jared Ivey and Drake Jackson in corresponding moves.
Pearce’s return adds a potential boost to Atlanta’s pass-rush unit, which has been a key focus entering the second half of the season.
