The Seattle Seahawks enter their Week 8 matchup against the Chicago Bears without star linebacker Uchenna Nwosu, who is out with an ankle injury. The absence of Nwosu, a key defensive playmaker, adds pressure to a Seattle defense that already faces challenges with other injuries.
Alongside Nwosu, Seattle’s inactives include offensive tackle Charles Cross (ankle), wide receiver Rashid Shaheed (knee), and quarterback Drew Lock (elbow), while running back Velus Jones Jr. (hamstring) and nose tackle Brandon Pili (back) are also sidelined.
Despite these setbacks, Seattle’s linebacker corps gains depth with the return of Drake Thomas and Chazz Surratt, who were previously out with injuries, while Patrick O’Connell and Connor O’Toole are expected to contribute as well. Meanwhile, the Bears will be without running back Kyle Monangai (toe, thumb) for the third straight game, handing more workload to Roschon Johnson.
Malik Muhammad (toe), who practiced limitedly all week, will also miss the game, further thinning Chicago’s lineup. With the division-leading San Francisco 49ers on bye, Seattle has a chance to tighten its grip on first place in the NFC West if they can overcome the Bears, who have won four of their last five games.
