Is the Mizzou matchup with Texas do-or-die for the playoffs?

As the college football season enters its final month with crisp autumn temperatures arriving, the Missouri Tigers face a narrow margin for error regarding their playoff ambitions. Holding a six-and-two record, the squad prepares to host Texas in Columbia for a crucial matchup carrying heavy postseason implications.

While the Longhorns possess a strong résumé featuring victories against Ohio State and on the road at Tennessee, Missouri lacks similarly high-caliber wins following the struggles of past opponents like Florida and Mississippi State, where an injury to Kamario Taylor derailed the Bulldogs. Because Texas holds a stronger selection cushion that could withstand a defeat in Columbia, a victory on Saturday remains essential for the Tigers to maintain their pursuit of a playoff berth.
