Iraola cites 'lack of freshness' after Liverpool draw

Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola pointed to fatigue as a key factor following his team's scoreless stalemate against Fulham at Anfield on Saturday. Coming off a midweek European victory against Atlético Madrid, the hosts struggled to replicate their high tempo, failing to generate consistent forward momentum throughout the match.

Although Bernd Leno denied headed efforts from Víctor Muñoz and an attempt by Alexander Isak, Iraola acknowledged it was the first fixture of his tenure where his squad found it difficult to craft quality scoring opportunities during a tight turnaround between contests.

Fulham entered the clash having suffered defeats in their first three league matches, but Alvaro Arbeloa's squad proved dangerous and nearly took the lead when Jérémy Jacquet was forced to make a goal-line clearance against Gonzalo García. While Bradley Barcola, Florian Wirtz, and Ryan Gravenberch endured difficult outings for the still-unbeaten home side, the visiting manager expressed pride in securing Fulham's inaugural point of the campaign, praising his team's resolve and asserting that similar displays will soon yield victories.
