Sonu and Ajith push Tamil Nadu closer to victory against Chandigarh

Tamil Nadu tightened its grip on the Ranji Trophy Elite Group D clash at the Sector-16 Ground in Chandigarh, dismissing the hosts for 94 in the first innings and enforcing a massive lead. Son Yadav spearheaded the bowling attack, claiming four wickets including Arjit Pannu, Bhagmender Lather, Nikhil Sharma and Nishunk Birla, while Ajith Ram added crucial breakthroughs by removing Akshit Rana, Bhagmender Lather and Arjit Pannu in the second innings.

The visitors posted a mammoth 571 for seven declared, with contributions across the batting line‑up, and forced Chandigarh into a follow‑on. After a steady start in the second innings, Chandigarh slumped to 189 for seven at stumps, still trailing by 288 runs, leaving them staring at an innings defeat as Tamil Nadu’s bowlers, led by Son and Ajith, ran through the host side.
