Inspired Wales seal stunning win over South Africa

Wales ended a nine-match losing streak with an authoritative 50-19 triumph against South Africa in their WXV Global Series opener at Cardiff Arms Park. Sean Lynn altered his setup by positioning Keira Bevan at fly-half, and his side built an overwhelming 38-5 advantage by the interval through six tries.

Courtney Keight touched down first on the left wing, followed by Sisilia Tuipulotu, Seren Lockwood, Maisie Davies, Kelsey Jones, and Lisa Neumann, with Freya Bell adding five conversions across the match. South Africa suffered severe disciplinary setbacks, losing Lindelwa Gwala to a yellow card before Danelle Lochner received a yellow card for a high tackle that was subsequently upgraded to a 20-minute red.

The visitors registered their initial first-half score courtesy of Felicia Jacobs off a close-range scrum, before adding second-half tries through Tshiremba and Samboya alongside two conversions from Byrhandre Dolf. Wales sealed their eight-try total with second-half efforts from player of the match Alex Callender and Tuipulotu's second score of the night.

The victory arrived despite Lockwood departing for an unpassed head injury assessment, which necessitated Lleucu George entering at fly-half and Bevan shifting back to scrum-half.
