McNamara to succeed Cullen as Leinster head coach

Leinster has confirmed that Noel McNamara will take over as head coach starting next season. He succeeds Leo Cullen, who is stepping down after a twelve-year tenure marked by numerous championship victories.

McNamara, currently serving as the attack coach for Bordeaux Begles, previously held various roles within the Leinster organization and coached the Ireland Under-20s to a Grand Slam in 2019. His appointment follows a period where his current side defeated Leinster in the Champions Cup final.

Leinster executive Shane Nolan noted that McNamara was the top choice for the position, with a formal transition expected to occur next July. David Humphreys, the IRFU performance director, emphasized the incoming coach's extensive experience and his ability to foster player development.
