Inspired Wales seal stunning win over South Africa

Wales snapped a nine-match losing streak with a commanding 50-19 triumph over South Africa in their WXV Global Series opener at Cardiff Arms Park. Sean Lynn’s side held a 38-5 advantage by the break after crossing the line six times, capitalizing on their opponents' severe disciplinary lapses.

Courtney Keight, Sisilia Tuipulotu, Seren Lockwood, Maisie Davies, Kelsey Jones, Lisa Neumann, and player-of-the-match Alex Callender all notched tries for the home side, alongside five successful conversions from Freya Bell. The visitors were hampered when Lindelwa Gwala was yellow-carded and Danelle Lochner received a yellow that escalated into a 20-minute red for a high hit on Kate Williams.

Despite entering the contest ranked three spots below the Springboks, the Welsh squad dominated proceedings from the start. South Africa replied through five-pointers from Felicia Jacobs, Tshiremba, and Samboya, with Dolf converting twice, but could not close the deficit.

Wales reshuffled their lineup mid-game when Lockwood exited after a head injury assessment, shifting Keira Bevan from fly-half to scrum-half and introducing Lleucu George at ten, yet their offensive rhythm held firm through Tuipulotu's second score of the night.
