Hardik Pandya for Arshdeep Singh: MI and PBKS pull off blockbuster trade ahead of IPL 2027

Mumbai Indians and Punjab Kings are finalizing a landmark trade ahead of the IPL 2027 season, with Hardik Pandya set to join the latter in exchange for Arshdeep Singh and wicketkeeper-batter Vishnu Vinod. The deal, reportedly nearing completion, marks one of the most significant player exchanges in IPL history.

Hardik, a dual-threat all-rounder with 6,344 IPL runs and 230 wickets, would bolster Punjab’s bowling attack alongside Marco Jansen, while Arshdeep—India’s leading T20I wicket-taker with 151 dismissals—would bolster Mumbai’s pace battery. Vishnu Vinod, a key backup keeper-batter, would also shift to Mumbai in the swap.

Negotiations between the franchises have advanced significantly, with paperwork expected to be finalized soon, though an official announcement could still arrive before the November 17 retention deadline. Punjab’s pursuit of Pandya intensified after initial discussions with Mumbai, even if it meant parting with Arshdeep, whose departure could trigger further trades, including potential swaps with Lucknow Super Giants for left-arm pacer Mohsin Khan.
