Following the dismissal of Ben Arbuckle on November 2, former Tennessee standout Jason Witten has stepped into the role of interim offensive coordinator and play-caller for the Oklahoma program. Witten initially joined the Sooners staff as a tight ends coach after concluding his duties at the conclusion of the 2025 campaign, having previously coached at Liberty Christian in Texas following a storied NFL career primarily with the Dallas Cowboys.
Oklahoma enters Witten's play-calling debut against Florida on November 7 holding a 4-4 record overall and a 2-3 mark in SEC play. The squad currently struggles with the second-lowest scoring output in the conference, managing a mere 22 points per contest.
Within the offense, senior tight end Rocky Beers anchors the receiving game as the team leader in touchdowns with four while ranking second in receiving yards at 446.
