CFP Rankings shake up national title odds as SEC gains ground, Ohio State slides

The inaugural College Football Playoff committee rankings have triggered significant shifts in national championship betting markets. The SEC currently holds a dominant position with five teams inside the top 11, while the Big Ten and Big 12 are represented by only two squads each.

Alabama, Kentucky, and Texas secured the fifth through seventh spots, signaling the committee's strong preference for the conference. Conversely, Ohio State tumbled to 12th following a loss to USC, placing the Buckeyes outside the current playoff bracket.

Notre Dame also faces increased pressure at 11th, with their postseason hopes tied to a critical upcoming matchup against top-ranked Miami.
