Blackburn see off Millwall

Blackburn Rovers halted a four-match drought without a victory by defeating Millwall 3-1 amidst supporters voicing frustrations against owners Venky's prior to kickoff at Ewood Park. Following an early Balazs Toth stop on Camiel Neghli and a Todd Cantwell strike denied by Max Crocombe, the hosts grabbed the lead four minutes before the interval when Dapo Afolayan cleverly redirected Sam Morsy's wayward attempt home for his debut league strike for the side.

Millwall drew level six minutes after the restart as Lyndon Dykes dispatched a penalty awarded when substitute Gady Beyuku brought down Tairyk Arconte, who also had an effort disallowed for an infringement amid several visiting opportunities. Afolayan promptly restored the advantage around the 58th minute, surging forward from the midfield line to drill a low 18-yard left-footed finish into the net.

Despite late threats from the visitors—including Arconte steering Zak Sturge's delivery off target, Dykes nodding a Mark Sykes cross wide, and Hayden Carter deflecting an Arconte strike over the bar—Tony Mowbray's team held firm against Alex Neil's men, who have now fallen in three of their previous four Championship fixtures. Blackburn ultimately sealed the points in stoppage time through a swift counterattack, with substitute Andri Gudjohnsen initiating the move before converting Jayden Fevrier's squared pass to claim his third goal of the campaign.
