India secured a 3-2 series victory against New Zealand following a successful start that saw them win the first three matches. Despite a seven-wicket loss in the final game at Hamilton on November 1, 2026, head coach Gautam Gambhir praised the squad for their performance under tight preparation constraints.
The tour provided international debuts for Mayank Yadav and Prince Yadav, while Ishan Kishan missed two fixtures due to fitness concerns. Gambhir noted that the T20I group established momentum for the upcoming ODI and Test legs of the tour.
He also urged the players to maintain their conditioning during the month-long break before the team reconvenes for a series against Sri Lanka in December.
