Za'Darius Smith likely to play in Week 1

The Atlanta Falcons are anticipated to have defensive end Za'Darius Smith on the field for their season opener against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Quarterback Cooper Rush is also slated to suit up for the Week 1 clash, while wide receiver Zachariah Branch is set to participate after participating fully during Friday's practice without landing on the final injury report.

Atlanta continues to navigate significant medical setbacks at quarterback and elsewhere, having declared four team members out for the contest, including Tua Tagovailoa and Michael Penix Jr. Meanwhile, the Steelers carry fewer injury concerns heading into Sunday, though cornerback Joey Porter Jr.
