Woman in Jacobs case seeks to have evidence permanently sealed

Legal counsel representing the ex-partner of Josh Jacobs submitted a request on Tuesday to ensure that case exhibits and discovery records remain hidden from the public indefinitely. The move follows a preliminary sealing order issued last Thursday by Brown County Circuit Judge Marc A.

A permanent concealment order would hinder the NFL's efforts to acquire surveillance recordings from Jacobs' garage that reportedly capture him tossing the victim onto the floor and breaking her mobile device.

Jacobs was placed on the commissioner exempt list on August 30, barring him from team activities while the league conducts an inquiry that could ultimately yield a suspension credited against his time away. Under the resolution of the criminal case, Jacobs received a battery conviction alongside a $1,000 fine, entered a deferred judgment pact regarding the property damage, and was instructed to complete one year of supervision, attend therapy sessions, cover restitution, and maintain no communication with the woman.
