Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay announced that star edge rusher Myles Garrett and Terrance Ferguson will resume practicing this week. Garrett, the reigning NFL defensive player of the year, is currently in his 21-day practice window following left knee surgery that he underwent after the season-opening loss.
The Rams, who are currently 4-4 and third in the NFC West, have secured two consecutive victories to re-enter the playoff race. Ahead of upcoming road matchups against the Washington Commanders and the Arizona Cardinals, the team received this positive news regarding their key defensive contributors.
Conversely, the Rams defense faces a significant setback as cornerback Jaylen Watson will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery. McVay confirmed that Watson has been placed on injured reserve, marking another injury to the unit.
While Garrett's return to active play remains without a set timeline, McVay indicated that the process should move quickly once he is on the practice field.
