Why Thierno Barry is already improving as Everton's main man 💫

Everton’s underwhelming summer transfer window has inadvertently thrust Thierno Barry into the spotlight as the club’s sole established striker. With Moyes’ squad stripped of attacking depth, the 24-year-old French forward has stepped up in a way few expected, delivering two goals in four days—including a strike against Newcastle United that sealed a win.

His eighth goal in 12 appearances this season, four of them in the Premier League, marks a sharp uptick from his previous campaign, and only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has scored more in all competitions among top-flight strikers. The question now is whether Barry’s recent form signals a turnaround for a player once criticized for inconsistency—or if Everton’s thin squad will continue to force his hand as the team’s primary offensive threat.
