The Mexico City Grand Prix opening session will feature a significant influx of young talent, with ten rookies stepping into cockpits to satisfy mandatory developmental requirements. Ferrari stands as the only team opting to field their full-time driver lineup for the initial practice period at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez.
Among the notable substitutions, Frederik Vesti takes over for George Russell at Mercedes, while Ayumu Iwasa replaces Max Verstappen at Red Bull. Leonardo Fornaroli will pilot the McLaren normally driven by Lando Norris, and Nikola Tsolov makes his debut for Racing Bulls in place of Liam Lawson.
Additionally, Gabriele Mini will drive the Alpine entry currently occupied by Franco Colapinto, and Freddie Slater is set for his first Formula 1 appearance with Audi, filling in for Gabriel Bortoleto.
