Joan Mir has disclosed that severe exhaustion stemming from vision complications forced him to step away from MotoGP competition for a six-week stretch. The former titleholder missed forty-four days of action across four separate race weekends following his departure from the San Marino Grand Prix in September.
After undergoing targeted medical care overseen by Doctor Charte and spending weeks recovering at home, the competitor feels prepared for a full-strength comeback at the upcoming event.
During his absence, the works Honda squad faced additional roster challenges when teammate Luca Marini was sidelined by a virus after completing only two practice laps at Phillip Island. Both racers are cleared to participate at Sepang, allowing the garage to field a complete lineup once again.
Mir noted that the answers uncovered regarding his physical condition will prove valuable for his future athletic career after a difficult campaign marked by numerous DNFs.
