Week 1 NFL scores, live updates: Kyler Murray ruled out with concussion, Carson Wentz in at QB for Vikings

The 2026 NFL regular season got underway with thirteen Sunday matchups scheduled across CBS, Fox, and NBC following two previously completed contests. Among the most notable developments, Kyler Murray was sidelined after suffering a concussion, while Carson Wentz took over under center for the Minnesota Vikings.

Elsewhere on the opening slate, the Chicago Bears and Carolina Panthers combined for the most points ever scored in an opening-week contest, validating high expectations for a Chicago offensive unit guided by Ben Johnson.
