Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green received his first ejection of the 2026-27 campaign during Monday night's matchup against the Phoenix Suns. The incident occurred when Green was assessed two technical fouls on a single sequence, first for encircling Phoenix center Khaman Maluach with both arms during a rim attempt, and secondly after a physical confrontation with Suns guard Dillon Brooks that required security intervention.
Former NBA champion Kendrick Perkins criticized Green's recent performance on ESPN's First Take, arguing that the veteran has become a net negative for the team rather than a contributor. Perkins noted that while Stephen Curry continues to defend his teammate due to their close bond, the Warriors' current energy is being driven by rookie Yaxel Lendeborg instead.
Curry, however, maintained his support for Green following the game, stating that the incident energized the entire squad.
