Former India batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has expressed confidence in Virat Kohli’s ability to score a century during India’s upcoming five-match ODI series against New Zealand, starting November 4. Kohli’s recent form has been exceptional, with 854 runs in his last 12 innings at a strike rate of 117.63, including a standout 139-ball 139 against the West Indies in Thiruvananthapuram.
Pujara believes Kohli’s position at No. 3 in the batting order gives him a better chance of reaching three figures than opener Rohit Sharma, whose role may shift in New Zealand’s conditions.
The series is expected to be closely contested, with Pujara predicting a 2-2 draw, though rain could wash out one match. He noted that India’s early advantage may fade in the final two games, as the team composition could change due to player rotations.
