T20I: Jasprit Bumrah returns as India ease to win over Afghanistan

In New Delhi, India secured a convincing seven-wicket win over Afghanistan at Arun Jaitley Stadium after skipper Shreyas Iyer elected to field. Making his comeback from an injury hiatus, Jasprit Bumrah struck immediately in his opening over by having Rahmanullah Gurbaz caught at slip by Abhishek Sharma.

Arshdeep Singh spearheaded the bowling effort with figures of 3/19 as Afghanistan crumbled to 43/5 in seven overs, a slump compounded when captain Ibrahim Zadran was run out for 11 following a mix-up with Sediqullah Atal. Azmatullah Omarzai mounted a counter-offensive, hitting an unbeaten 64 and teaming up with Mohammad Nabi (33) for an 83-run stand to push their side to 156/8.
