Real Madrid has renewed the contract of 15-year-old forward Mikel Lopez, a move that locks in one of the most prolific talents in their youth system. The striker, who joined the club in 2022 from Canillas, has scored 148 goals across his time in La Fabrica, including 30 in his debut season, 38 the following year, 43 in 2024/25, and 37 in the 2025/26 campaign.
Standing 1.92 meters tall, Lopez has drawn comparisons to Erling Haaland due to his physical stature and finishing ability.
Lopez recently added five goals to his tally while helping Spain win the FIFA U-15 World Cup in Baku. The club is managing his development carefully, noting that he will turn 16 in 2027, the age at which he becomes eligible for his first professional deal.
His teammate Alberto Ruiz, also a World Cup winner, is currently attracting interest from Manchester United.
