Former Real Madrid manager warns Vinicius as Diomande strengthens his case: ‘These matches are bad news for him’

Nineteen-year-old Yan Diomande continues to elevate his status within Real Madrid's forward line, notching four goals and four assists across his most recent six outings. His latest contribution featured a brilliant strike from outside the box during a 3-0 triumph against Racing Santander under manager Jose Mourinho.

This impressive surge in form has prompted former club boss Jorge Valdano to suggest that Vinicius Jr. faces a tough challenge to reclaim his spot once his domestic suspension concludes following upcoming fixtures against AEK Athens and Valencia.

Mourinho has acknowledged his reliance on the Brazilian forward yet declined to guarantee an immediate return to the starting eleven.
