Real Madrid confident of signing Man Utd's Gabriel

Spanish giants Real Madrid are currently positioned as frontrunners to secure teenage forward JJ Gabriel from Manchester United. The sixteen-year-old has spent time training individually in Spain after stepping away from his parent club in September following earlier involvement with the youth setup and a pre-season appearance against Atletico Madrid.

Interest has also surfaced from Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain as the youngster pursues senior playing opportunities. Figures previously associated with United, including Darren Fletcher and Michael Carrick, have commented publicly on managing the welfare and career path of the young player following discussions surrounding his future and acquisition of a European Union passport.
