New Zealand’s upcoming five-match ODI series against India will begin without two key players, as both Rachin Ravindra and Mark Chapman have been ruled out due to ongoing injury concerns. Chapman’s left hamstring requires additional rehabilitation following an MRI, while Ravindra’s right shoulder needs more recovery time before he can return to full fielding capacity.
The absence of the two players has prompted adjustments to the squad, with Tim Seifert now set to feature in all five matches, while Henry Nicholls and Dean Foxcroft will replace them in the first three and last two ODIs, respectively. Meanwhile, Matt Henry, who suffered a muscle tear during New Zealand’s recent T20 series loss (3-2 to India), will join the squad for assessment ahead of the ODI series, which kicks off at Eden Park in Auckland on Wednesday.
The two teams will also contest two Tests following the ODI series.
