Major League Baseball has announced the 2026 Gold Glove recipients, with nine of the 20 total winners claiming the honor for the first time. Pete Crow-Armstrong of the Chicago Cubs secured his second consecutive award at center field, adding to his 40-40 season and strong National League MVP candidacy.
His teammate Alex Bregman also received his second career Gold Glove, highlighting the Cubs' defensive focus despite the team having five nominees in total. Jackson Chourio of the Milwaukee Brewers won his first award at left field, ending the four-year streak of Ian Happ from Chicago.
The Boston Red Sox and Arizona Diamondbacks were the most represented clubs, each taking home three of the defensive trophies.
Wilyer Abreu of the Red Sox claimed his third straight Gold Glove at right field, while the Brewers added Brice Turang at second base. The Toronto Blue Jays and Kansas City Royals, despite having five and four nominees respectively, failed to win any awards this year.
Other first-time winners included Cleveland Guardians pitcher Tanner Bibee, Seattle Mariners second baseman Cole Young, Tampa Bay Rays shortstop Taylor Walls, Boston Red Sox third baseman Caleb Durbin, and Texas Rangers utility player Ezequiel Duran. The full list of honorees spans both leagues, recognizing top defensive performances across all positions.
